LAFD Air Drop Helps Stop Elysian Park Brush Fire

LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters stopped the spread of a small brush fire that broke out early Wednesday near Angels Point in Elysian Park.

The fire was reported at about 4:30 a.m. and burned a roughly 25-foot-by-25-foot patch of medium brush.

Los Angeles Fire Department air crews made a successful water drop on the flames before firefighters on the ground completed extinguishment using hand lines.

Crews remained at the scene as of 5:15 a.m. conducting mop-up and containment operations.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
