LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles police located two people at a hospital and took assault-with-a-deadly-weapon reports following reports of stabbings near the Taste of Soul festival in South Los Angeles Saturday.

Officers initially received calls about a stabbing near Crenshaw and Martin Luther King Jr. boulevards around 2:45 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Charles Miller told City News Service.

At least one person was reported stabbed during an apparent group fight, but those involved had left the scene before responding officers could locate them, Miller said.

In a subsequent update Saturday night, LAPD Media Relations said officers had located two people at a hospital, interviewed them and taken reports involving assaults by cutting.

A second stabbing was reported in the 4200 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, where one person was transported to a hospital with possible stab wounds, according to ABC7, citing the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities had not established whether the two reported incidents were related, ABC7 reported.

Festival organizers said the police activity occurred outside the event grounds, did not disrupt operations and that the festival ended as scheduled, according to ABC7.

The victims' conditions were not immediately available, and the circumstances of the violence remained under investigation.
