LOS ANGELES, CA — Overnight construction will shut down lanes and ramps on the 101, 134, 170 and 405 freeways this week, which authorities expect to cause traffic delays for motorists in Hollywood, the Westside and those heading in and out of the San Fernando Valley.
The 405 construction will involve closures on the Westside, in the Sepulveda Pass and in the San Fernando Valley from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday:
Additionally, the speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph in certain sections along the northbound and southbound sides of the freeway due to the construction.
Construction has been underway on the 405 Freeway in and near the Sepulveda Pass since June 2025 as part of the I-405 Pavement Rehabilitation Project, a $143.7 million project to improve safety and mobility along the freeway and extend the life of its pavement, according to Caltrans.
Meanwhile, another round of major overnight closures on the 101 Freeway through the Cahuenga Pass will also impact the 170 and 134 freeways, with multiple lanes, ramps and key freeway connectors shutting down throughout the week. Read full details about those closures here.
