SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
Before we jump into the top stories, here's the weather forecast for next week.
After a cool, rainy Halloween, the Southland can expect a warm, sunny week. Highs are expected to range from the lower 70s earlier in the week into the mid-80s later in the week throughout LA, Orange County, and the Inland Empire. Around Friday and through the weekend, the region can expect highs in the mid-80s.
In other news, Michael Mann, the 83-year-old director of crime classics like "The Heat" and "Collateral," is hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself at a gun range in Los Angeles, his representative told media outlets.
Six miles of SoCal beaches and swimming areas are closed following a 29,000-gallon sewage spill, authorities said Saturday. Officials believe the spill was caused by a force main break in a pressurized pipe with wastewater.
Finally, in lighter news, you could own the Batmobile. But you may have to be as wealthy as Bruce Wayne himself to afford it. Julien's Auctions and Turner Classic Movies are hosting "The Ultimate Batmobile Auction" in Los Angeles this November, which will include the batmobile from Tim Burton's 1992 film "Batman Returns."
