Choreographers Rashaun Mitchell + Silas Riener combine technological and human pathways into a dynamic work that imagines an Artificial Intelligence lovingly programmed by experimental dance.&nbsp;Open Machine presents a constantly shifting performance with live speech-to-text transcription, projected images, and virtual renderings that amplify and react to the unfolding dance. Blurring the lines between brain, body, and machine, the piece is accompanied by a sweeping, mechanical sound score by electronic musician Mas Ysa and vocal artist Charmaine Lee, media design by Jesse Stiles, and lighting design by Davison Scandrett. As dancers navigate the stage with precision and abandon,&nbsp;Open Machine&nbsp;synthesizes disparate modes of working, and reflects the social and spatial structures that shape our daily&nbsp;lives.

LA Sanitation &amp; Environment's signature event is back in full force with over 40 educational (and fun) exhibitors, City vehicles to explore, tons of photo ops, a kids zone, games, and prizes, while supplies last.
In the spirit of environmental awareness, this will be a Zero Waste event. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, and we'll provide cold, filtered water for you. We'll also provide FREE delicious meals from Savage Tacos, until we run out. NEW this year:
<ul><li>Community Toy Swap: Children are invited to bring a gently used toy they no longer play with to the Upcycled Toy Tribe booth. They will learn how to clean it at a plant-based "cleaning station" and swap it for a "new-to-them" treasure.</li><li>Free Bike Repair: Riding your bike over? Volunteers from BikeRoWave will be available to help with basic repairs, such as replacing chains or tightening seats.</li></ul>
Stage performances will begin around noon with talented local entertainers, and a DJ with us throughout the day to keep things fun.
Please note, for safety and sanitary reasons, only service animals are permitted.
