Schedule
10am | Museum opens
- Free admission, no advance reservation necessary.
11am–4pm | Esquites (Mexican street corn in a cup) and aguas frescas by Fresh Fruit by Ruth through the Inclusive Action for the City Street Vendor Resources program | Walt Disney Company Piazza
- Free esquites for the first 100 servings. Food and beverage available for purchase thereafter.
11am–4pm | Ribbon making with Brown Sugar Collective
- Make personalized ribbons inspired by your favorite movies and state your vision for the stories you want to see in film. Brown Sugar Collective is a self-directed, community effort to increase BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, people of color) visibility of TGI (transgender, gender-expansive, intersex) folks in Los Angeles. Its goal is to create free or low-cost events, with no one turned away for lack of funds.
Noon–5pm | Tacos by Fanny’s | Walt Disney Company Piazza
- Fanny’s, the Academy Museum restaurant, offers tacos and other treats for purchase.
1pm and 3pm | Line dance workshop | Walt Disney Company Piazza
- A 30-minute, beginner-friendly lesson in community partnership with Bootleg Linedance, a queer line-dance organization with a focus on building community care, sharing the joy of movement, and making space for all bodies to belong. We strive to uplift the brilliance of groups historically divested from country line dance spaces, particularly BIPOC, transgender people, gender-expansive folks, women, and femmes.
