Dr. Barnaby Fulton (Cary Grant) is a scatterbrained chemist working to create an elixir of youth. When one of his chimpanzees, Esther, breaks loose, she mixes chemicals in Barnaby’s lab, dumping the concoction into the office’s water cooler. The formula generates the rejuvenation effect Barnaby has been seeking — along with more chaotic side effects in some cases. Monkey Business allowed Monroe, who co-stars as Lois Laurel, to showcase her brilliant timing, further solidifying her reputation as a comedic actress.
