Saturday afternoon in a hotel lobby already feels like you've stepped somewhere a little apart from the usual weekend, and that's before you've picked up a brush. I'm Arlene, and I'll be guiding you through a painting that has a real stillness to it — Snow Covered Pines, with its deep blacks and blues, the white weight of snow bending the branches, water somewhere below, and a sky that looks like it belongs to a different, quieter world. I've got you every step of the way, no matter where you're starting from. The AC Hotel in Pasadena is a genuinely beautiful room to spend a couple of hours in, and we'll fill it with paint, conversation, and whatever's in your glass.
