L.A. Witmer Historical Estate On Market For 1st Time In 100 Years
The 1920s compound and cultural landmark was built by David Witmer, a renown Los Angeles-area architect, who also designed the Pentagon.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Hitting the market for the first time in a century is the Witmer Estate in Los Angeles — a 5,400-square-foot, family compound built in 1921 by famed architect David Witmer, whose career credits also include the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
This piece of Los Angeles architectural history is listed as an LA Historic Cultural Monument (#538), which for buyers could mean potential tax savings through the Mills Act property tax reduction program.
Priced at nearly $5 million, the gated Witmer Estate, near Echo Park, features four residences — three single-family homes and a studio apartment — for a combined total of eight bedrooms, five baths and 5,437 square feet.
