Shooting Suspect Drives to LAPD Station and Shoots Himself, Police Say

A woman, 22, is fighting for her life, and police say the man who shot her went to an LAPD station where he shot himself twice.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- A man was in custody Friday after allegedly shooting and wounding his girlfriend in Fontana and then driving to the south Los Angeles area, where he shot and himself outside an LAPD station.

The man shot himself Thursday night at the back gate of the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Station at 7600 S. Broadway, and he was hospitalized in stable condition, LAPD Officer Aareon Jefferson said.

According to Fontana police, Kayvon Isaccs, 25, and his 22-year-old girlfriend were fighting about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in a home in the 18200 block of Orange Way, the San Bernardino Sun reported.

During that argument, Isaccs shot the woman once and ran off, police said. Paramedics took the wounded woman to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

While officers were investigating the shooting, they learned Isaccs had carjacked someone about two blocks away in the 8700 block of Locust Avenue, officials said.

Isaccs drove from Fontanta to the LAPD 77th Street Station, where he shot himself twice, Fontana police officials said.
