11 Displaced After Fire Guts North OC Apartment
9 adults and 2 children were forced from their apartment building after flames gutted a Seal Beach area apartment unit.
SEAL BEACH, CA āEleven people were displaced after a fire raged through an apartment unit in North Orange County, Sunday, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.
Firefighters responded to the tw0-alarm blaze at the 12400 block of Montecito Road, OCFA Capt. Cameron Rossman said. Both OCFA and Huntington Beach Fire Department dispatched a total of 44 firefighters to the scene shortly before 2 p.m., Rossman said.
The fire broke out in a fourth-floor unit, Rossman continued, adding that the bottom floor serves as a parking garage, and residents live in an apartment unit that consists of three top levels.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one apartment unit, extinguishing the blaze in approximately 30 minutes.

The blaze destroyed one unit and four others sustained water and smoke damage. There were no injuries reported, Rossman said.

The Red Cross was called to the scene to arrange temporary housing for nine adults and two children, Rossman said.
The cause of the blaze remained under investigation.
