16th Racehorse Dies On Los Alamitos Race Course Track
Malibu Morning, a 3-year-old colt, perished after being hurt in the second race, Friday at the Orange County horse racing track.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA āA three-year-old colt has died from injuries sustained while racing at Los Alamitos Race Course on Friday night, according to the Mike Martin of the California Horse Racing Board.
The death toll at the track hovers now at 16.
Veterinarians euthanized Malibu Morning after the horse sustained life-ending injuries in the second race on Saturday, according to Martin.

According to Equibase, the horse racing industry's website, the colt was foaled in 2017, and owned by Martha Reyes, and trained by Felix Gonzales. He was in his fourth racing start.
Patch has reached out to Los Alamitos Race Course and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals for comment and will update this report when that is received.
