A Man And Woman Died In A Crash Over Saturday In Garden Grove. Speed & DUI Played A Role.

Speed is a factor in Saturday's 405 Southbound and Seal Beach Boulevard collision in Garden Grove that claimed the life of a man and woman.

GARDEN GROVE, CA — A man and woman were killed in a weekend collision on the 405 southbound at Seal Beach Boulevard, police, California Highway Patrol officers reported.

On Saturday, shortly before noon, a 39-year-old man driving a Volkswagen at a high rate of speed struck a Honda. The Honda exploded in flames as a result of the crash, according to reports.

The driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene by the Orange County Coroner.

Oscar Anguiano, the driver of the Volkswagen, was taken by ambulance to UCI Medical Center.

"Impairment is suspected as a factor in this collision," says CHP Officer Taketa. Anguiano was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
