22nd Annual Wienerschnitzel Weiner Nationals takes place at Los Alamitos Race Course on July 22 2017 to determine Fastest Dog in the West

The fastest dogs in the west will take to the track for the 22nd Annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals at Los Alamitos Race Course. It’s not your typical dog and pony show – Southern California’s finest dachshunds will dash to the finish line competing to be crowned the "Fastest Dog in the West." More than 90 dogs will compete but only one will go from “wiener to winner,” taking home $1000 and a custom built Wienerschnitzel Dog House.
The event is free to children 17 and under. Adults are $3. There is free general parking. More information is available by calling 714.820-2690 or online at Los Alamitos Race Course.
Kids and those young at heart will get get a chance to meet and take picture with TDO (The Delicious One) the famous Wienerschnitzel Mascot and interact with the 4-legged contestants who are decked out in costumes and racing jackets.

The Wienerschnitzel Wiener National festivities will get underway at approximately 6:30 p.m. and will also include a live horse racing program featuring Los Alamitos’ top race horses. The Wiener Nationals Championship race will be held at approximately 9:15 p.m. The doxies will be strutting their stuff in front of a packed house at Los Alamitos, a total of 10 trial heats will be contested at 50 yards with the winning wieners advancing to the championship race.
The purpose of this fun event is to raise funds for the Seal Beach Animal Care Center, a non-profit group dedicated to finding homes for stray animals in the Orange County area. Since 1996, the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals has helped raised over $240,000 for the Care Center. The Seal Beach Animal Care Center will sell tickets to the event with all proceeds from these sales going directly to the Seal Beach Animal Care Center.
