3-Alarm Fire Erupts In OC Industrial Strip, Firefighter Hospitalized

Orange County firefighters swiftly quelled a potentially devastating fire that erupted in an industrial strip center in Westminster.

WESTMINSTER, CA — A three-alarm fire erupted in an industrial strip center in Westminster Friday, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.

The fire wrought $1.5 million worth of damage to a single-story industrial strip center in Westminster, where one firefighter was injured while fighting the blaze, authorities said.

Firefighters dispatched about 2:50 p.m. Saturday to the 15000 block of West State Street "ahived a rapid knockdown" of the blaze, authorities said.

The fire triggered a second and then a third alarm due to the "volume" of the flames.

A firefighter battling the fire was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital for an undisclosed "medical condition." His condition as of Monday was not known.

The fire wrought $1 million dollars to the structure and $500,000 worth of damage to its contents.
A cause of the fire was under investigation.
