3 Los Al Students Receive $6,000 in Scholarships from Rossmoor Homeowners

17 students applied for the three awards.

Three Los Alamitos High School seniors netted a combined $6,000 for college from the Rossmoor Homeowners Association recently.

THE SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Lexi Mossler won the $3,000 scholarship.

The daughter of RHA members Bob and Jayne Mossler, Lexi made the principal’s honor roll every semester with a 4.5 GPA. Named most valuable player, she served as captain on the girls soccer team and was named most valuable player.  She was also a member the Spanish Honor Society and of the Charity League.

Andrew Woyshner won the $2,000 scholarship.

The son of RHA members Rob and Sharon Woyshner, he served on the championship LAHS show choir and made the principal’s honor roll every semester. He also worked on Eagle Scout projects and holds a Black Belt in Hapkido.

Kristi Okino won the $1,000 scholarship

The daughter of RHA members Todd and Sunghie Okino, Kristi made the principal’s honor roll every semester with a 4.51 GPA. Kristi competed on the LAHS soccer team and was a member of the Track and Field Team and a member of the Spanish Honor Society. Kristi’s community service included volunteer service at the Katella Manor.

The three winners were given a plaque acknowledging their accomplishment at the May RHA Board of Directors meeting and were presented with their checks at the LAHS Senior Recognition Night on May 22.

Seventeen students applied for the RHA High School Scholarship contest for 2013.
