98th Anniversary of Seal Beach Celebration Slideshow

The 98th Anniversary of Seal Beach Celebration
Slideshow
will be on Sunday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Marina Community
Center, 151 Marina Drive.  There is no
charge for this event.  Refreshments will
be served.

The actual date of the founding of Seal Beach is with a
slideshow of rare photos of Seal Beach landmarks, people and events from the
city’s past.  Including a video of our
spectacular scintillator lights that shined out to sea from the end of the pier
in 1918.

Michael Dobkins will narrate the show with his
collection.  Among the photos of this
one-hour event will be the Steamship Senator, a once familiar sight off our
shores in the 1870’s; construction of the Derby roller coaster and the
pavilion; silent film star Douglas Fairbanks filming a stunt in Alamitos Bay
and a few surprises.

After the slideshow stick around to help us finish off the
refreshments, get reacquainted with old friends, make some new friends, and
share your ideas on how we should celebrate the Seal Beach 100th founders day
in 1915.
