Active Shooter Training To Take Place At Seal Beach Elementary School
Residents may hear screaming or yelling, gunfire sounds and sirens around McGaugh Elementary School as a part of the training April 13.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Seal Beach residents will see an increased police and fire presence at McGaugh Elementary School, as the Seal Beach Police Departments conducts an Active Shooter Training exercise with the Orange County Fire Authority on Thursday, April 13.
During the training, residents near McGaugh Elementary may hear screaming or yelling, simulated gunfire sounds, exercise alerts over an amplified voice system and sirens.
McGaugh Elementary School will be closed for the duration of the training, and no students will be on campus, Seal Beach Police Department Lieutenant Julia Clasby said.

The training is designed to help prepare police officers and fire authority personnel for a potential critical event on campus.
Signage will be posted around the school to notify the public of the training.

The Active Shooter Training at McGaugh Elementary School takes place Thursday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
