• Silver Alert Activated For 67-Year-Old Man in Orange, Los Angeles Counties (mynewsla.com) — Authorities are asking Los Alamitos residents to watch for 67-year-old William Marshall Prosser, who has dementia and was last seen around 1 a.m. Wednesday near Katella Avenue just east of Los Alamitos Boulevard. A Silver Alert is active across Orange and Los Angeles counties, and anyone who spots him is urged to call 911 immediately with any information.
• SAFER plans lawsuit against Cypress for approving environmental document they say fails to mitigate risks (event-newsenterprise.com) — Redevelopment of the Los Alamitos Race Course into nearly 1,800 homes is facing a legal challenge, as an environmental group plans to sue Cypress over the project's environmental report. Cypress residents are also questioning the city's legal advice and financial decisions, including forgiving interest on a multimillion-dollar park loan, as the long-term future of the racetrack property moves closer to reality.
