Arrest In Fatal Garden Grove Stabbing

An arrest was made in relation to a Saturday night stabbing that left one man dead. A Santa Ana Man was found dead at a Lilly Street home.

GARDEN GROVE, CA - One man was arrested following a stabbing at a Garden Grove home.

The 31-year-old Santa Ana resident was booked on suspicion of murder for allegedly being one of several men who attacked and stabbed to death a man at a home in Garden Grove.

Officers were dispatched at just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday to the 13300 block of Lilly Street, and found Ruben J. Murga, 25, lying in a driveway with stab wounds, said Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney.

"A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was involved in an altercation with several other subjects and was stabbed at the time," Whitney said. "Detectives were notified and responded to the scene."

Paramedics rushed the Santa Ana resident to UCI Medical Center, where he later died from stab wounds.

"Michael J. Martinez was identified as being involved in the stabbing," Whitney said. "Martinez (a resident of Santa Ana) was arrested by detectives in the Garden Grove area and booked at the Orange County Jail for murder."
