Artists Wanted In Los Alamitos Arts Exhibition

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — CALLING ALL ARTISTS! The Los Alamitos Recreation & Community
Services Department and the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Commission are excited to
announce the return of the Weekend of Art in Los Alamitos. Mark your calendar and don’t miss
this creative and exciting event!

The exhibition will open to the public on Friday, March 16 from 5 -8 p.m. and Saturday,
March 17 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. An opening ceremony will take place on Friday, March 17
at 6 p.m. with light appetizers and entertainment.

The closing ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 17 at 6 p.m. The closing ceremony will include food trucks, arts and crafts booths, entertainment, and an awards ceremony. Awards will be given in the following divisions for visual artists:

• Mayor's Award (All Ages): 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place
• Curator's Award (All Ages): 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place
• Commissioner's Award (All Ages): 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place
• Art Educator's Award (All Ages): 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place
• Elementary School Division (Pre-K-5th grades): 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place
• JR High School Division (6th-8th grades): 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place
• High School Division (9th-12th grades): 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place
• Adult Division: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place
• People's Choice Award: 1st place

This event is FREE to the public and welcomes all skill levels and ages! Winning artists will
receive a gift card to the Art Supply Warehouse in Westminster, a certificate signed by the
Mayor, and an award ribbon. First place winners receive a $100 gift card, 2nd place winners
