Astronomy Night-Star Party

What could be more fun than observing amazing objects through powerful telescopes by the seaside? Bring your friends or family to astronomy night and find out! First we will explore the terminator of the beautiful first quarter moon against a lovely twilight sky. The craters, mountains and lava plains on our nearest celestial neighbor are a feast for the eyes. As twilight fades we will shift our focus to Saturn and its dazzling ring system and moons. Late in the evening we’ll get our first look at some the best deep-sky sights the early summer sky has to offer. If you have never seen the moon, Saturn or deep space objects through a big telescope, you will be amazed! Many wonders await
discovery at the eyepiece of powerful telescopes provided by our hard-working volunteer astronomers.

Seal Beach Astronomy Nights are co-hosted by our favorite local astronomy buff, Michael Beckage!

If you have a telescope, feel free to bring it to the star party. You don’t have to be an expert and it’s rewarding to share anything you know with someone else. The star parties are great for kids of all ages and best of all provide serious entertainment at an unbeatable price. (Free, that is!)
