Ax-Wielding Vandal Attacks Cars, Houses In North OC: Cops
Was your property damaged in a rampage by a man slinging an ax at cars, porch lights and mailboxes?
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Police arrested a man suspected of wielding an ax in a vandalism rampage in Huntington Beach, Monday.
The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, allegedly used the ax to vandalize multiple cars and homes along Bushard Street and Adams Avenue, police said.
The suspect "walked down the street," smashing windows with his ax as he went, police said.

Officers reported to the area at 11:15 a.m. with lights and sirens, to find and detain the suspect without incident, according to officials.
Police reported "numerous slashed tires, shattered car windows, and residential porch lights."

As of this report, multiple cases of vandalism were confirmed in the area of Bushard Street in between Adams Avenue and Indianapolis Avenue, police said.
The department thanked everyone who called to report the incident, stepped up to sign a Private Person's Arrest, and offered cold beverages to our officers who spent several hours conducting the investigation.
As of this report, the suspect was at HBPD jail, though his name and booking photo are not yet being released, pending further identification.
