BB Gun Attack in Seal Beach Injures Woman, Child
In a seemingly random shooting, a Seal Beach adult woman and child were shot with a BB gun on Sunday near Electric Ave and 12th Streets.

SEAL BEACH, CA—A woman and child were victims of a random BB gun shooting that occurred at around 5 p.m. on Sunday night. The victims were reportedly at a park in the area when a car drove by and shot at them with a BB gun according to Seal Beach public information officer Michael Henderson.
"Callers reported the incident as a possible 'drive by shooting,'" he said. The two victims, one a 5-year-old child and another, an adult woman, were in the park at Electric Ave. and 12th Street, according to Henderson.
It was determined that the weapon in question was a BB gun.

"A BB gun was recovered and the suspects were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and other related charges," Henderson stated. "All four of the suspects are juveniles, two 17 years of age, and two 16 years of age." Names are being withheld by officials, at this time.
The two victims were treated by paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority for their injuries, according to reports.
This is not the first random BB gun shooting in the Seal Beach and surrounding areas. Previous Patch.com reports from June stated a series of late night BB gun shootings were aimed at Buena Park area homeless.
The previous shootings that left two homeless people injured, occurred in the area of Lincoln and Knott Avenue, and a short time later, three miles away in the area of Beach and Artesia. Though the shootings were non-lethal, the increase of BB gun shootings has Seal Beach Police Department's attention. Original reports stated that due to timing and proximity, the shooter was likely the same person.
When asked about a connection, Henderson stated that Seal Beach Police Department is aware of the other shootings.
"We are looking into possible connections with other BB gun shootings," he said. "There is no information connecting this incident to other shootings as of yet."
