Blood Urgently Needed In Seal Beach: Blood Drives Near You
Seal Beach and Los Alamitos residents who donate blood during the month of May will have the chance to win a trip to Seattle.
SEAL BEACH, CA — As the seasons continue to change, the American Red Cross's need for donated blood remains the same.
"Type O negative blood donors are especially needed right now," an American Red Cross news release said. "Type O negative is the universal blood type and what emergency room personnel reach for when there is no time to determine a patient's blood type, in the most serious situations."
Residents who donate blood from May 1 through May 19 will receive a $10 e-gift card to a merchant of choice, the news release said.

In addition, throughout the entire month of May, blood donors will automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the 2023 MLB All-Star Game in Seattle, Washington.
Residents who donate blood between May 20 and May 31 will receive a free and exclusive Red Cross beach towel.

- May 15, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., The Ranch at Seal Beach, 3030 Old Ranch Parkway, Seal Beach.
- May 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Rossmoor Homeowners Association, 3021 Blume Dr., Rossmoor.
- May 24, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., City of Seal Beach, 707 Electric Ave., Seal Beach.
- May 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., St. Isidore Historical Plaza, 10961 Reagan St., Los Alamitos.
- May 31, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Old Ranch Country Club, 3901 Lampson Ave., Seal Beach.
- May 31, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Los Alamitos Medical Center, 3751 Katella Ave., Los Alamitos.
