Bomb Squad, FBI Investigates Car For Explosives In Garden Grove
A man suspected of making threats on social media led investigators to search his car for explosives overnight in Garden Grove.
GARDEN GROVE, CA —Social media threats led the FBI, Garden Grove Police and Orange County Sheriff's Department's bomb squad to search a car thought to contain explosives overnight in Garden Grove, officials reported.
No explosives were found inside a man's car, suspected of containing explosive material used to make bombs, but no explosives were found.
Deputies were dispatched the 9000 block of Westminster Avenue, near Flower Street, about 6:45 p.m., according to Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The man was suspected of making threats on social media that led investigators to believe he possessed explosives, Braun said.
The man was later arrested for a parole violation, Braun said.

OCSD investigators and bomb squad were assisted in the search of the vehicle by the FBI, which provided some specialized equipment that was used, she said.
The age and name of the suspect was not disclosed.
