Griffins Beat Northwood in Smashing 18-4 Season Opener
Boys water polo began it's season with a smashing 18-4 victory over Northwood HS Tuesday night at El Toro HS.
Just as soon as the season opener began, the young Griffin squad wasted no time in scoring. With just a few ticks off the clock, Andrew Reynolds tossed in the first score of the season against Irvine’s Northwood High School.
The Griffins would end the first period leading 6-1. In the second period, the Griffins scored six more times and led at the half, 12-1.
Griffin goalie Luke Weiser smothered many shot attempts by Northwood. In the third period, the Griffins cooled off and scored twice, leading 14-3.

In the final period, the Griffins continued to press and work on defensive principals while tossing in four more goals and winning 18-4.
