Here Are Ten Easy Things You Can Do To Help The Planet
Here are 10 simple, inexpensive things you can do to help the environment ~

It's actually easier than you think to be a little green.
Please consider sharing these simple steps with your friends and family. If everyone who reads this, tells one person who tells another person who tells another person...well, I'm sure you get the idea! For our planet to be healthy for future generations, we ALL can be just a little greener. And it's easy!
Here are some simple and inexpensive things I've recently changed in my life:
1. I always try to carry a reusable water bottle with me (I keep them filled in
my refrigerator and just grab one on the way out the door) so I no longer use single use water bottles (even though single use water bottles can be recycled).
2. I now have a glass straw thanks to Glass Dharma. If it breaks, Glass Dharma will replace it free of charge), and I keep it in a hemp
carrying case in my glovebox so I no longer use plastic single-use straws. If you
use the code 'Save Our Beach,' Glass Dharma will donate 20% of your purchase to our cause! NOTE: If you are paying by PayPal when using your "Save Our Beach" coupon code, make sure you enter and apply the coupon code BEFORE clicking on the "Checkout with PayPal" button.
3. I no longer use single use plastic grocery bags (Vons/Albertsons/Ralphs) - I
now bring my own reusable bags (thanks to The Tote Buddy)
to the grocery store, and I can store up to 10 bags inside the adorable bag holder/organizer. If you use the code SAVEOURBEACH, The Tote Buddy will take $1 off and donate 20% of your purchase to our cause!
4. I now take my printer cartridges to Costco to refill rather than take them to recycling. Costco fills them for 1/3 of the cost of a new cartridge, and I'm creating less trash.
5. I no longer buy single-use batteries. I only buy rechargeable batteries and then
simply recharge them (batteries can be recharged up to 250 times!).
6. I no longer leave my cell phone plugged in overnight charging as it only takes
an hour or two to recharge (saving me electricity).
7. I changed all of the light bulbs in my house to energy efficient (saves me money
on my electric bill by using ¼ of the electricity).
8. While waiting for the water to heat up for the bath or shower, put a large
bucket under to catch the water. Use this water for plants, pets, cleaning etc.
9. Before I go anywhere, I make myself think about walking or biking instead of
getting into the car. And before I get into my car, I map where I'm going to save fuel.
AND LAST: AN IDEA FOR HOW YOU CAN HELP SAVE OUR BEACH ~
10. Participate in our "Walk For The Beach" September 17th ~ it's only 2.25 mile
walk from jetty to jetty in Seal Beach and a $25 donation (and you score a
"Keep It Clean" tshirt!).

WHAT IS COASTAL CLEANUP DAY? California Coastal Cleanup Day, an annual beach and inland waterway cleanup, is the state's largest volunteer event. In 2010, over 82,500 volunteers removed more than 1.2 million pounds of trash and recyclables from our beaches, lakes, and waterways. When combined with the International Coastal Cleanup, organized by Ocean Conservancy and taking place on the same day, California Coastal Cleanup Day becomes part of one of the largest volunteer events in the world.
Thanks for playing along ~ and please remember if you have any used wrapping paper, soda pop tabs, or jewelry beads you no longer need, I can use them in my classes I teach at schools and camps!
Thanks again for supporting what I do ~
