Los Alamitos Slams Villa Park 13-5 in Girls Tennis Home Opener
Los Alamitos Griffins name Kevin Garrett as new girls varsity tennis coach. The Griffins defeated Villa Park 13-5 in season home opener.

Newly selected head coach Kevin Garrett was very proud of his young squad as they easily beat Villa Park 13-5.
“We are a very young and capable team. I am excited about being the head coach. I have been coaching these local kids for many years, and it’s been a very smooth transition,” said first-year head coach Kevin Garrett. Garrett is returning to Los Alamitos High School after already being the boys’ head coach back in 2000. Garrett's team won CIF, and he was selected coach of the year. Garrett, himself, graduated from Los Alamitos High School in 1993 and is a tennis instructor at El Dorado Tennis Center in Long Beach.
In doubles play, Griffins' Sarah Edwards and Sydney Bott swept Villa Park. Freshman Aliya Alenikov played well at the singles game.
