So Much to Grieve, So Much to Do, Where Should I Start?

The tragedy last week in Seal Beach has left an entire community in shock, grieving and trying to decide what to do.

The tragedy last week in Seal Beach has left an entire community in shock, grieving and trying to decide what to do. I've been approached by several people recently asking if I will be attending the services for the those killed, and my answer is I will not. Loss effects each of us differently, and I believe since I didn't have a personal relationship with the victims, my time is best spent coordinating fund-raising efforts for their families.

The outpouring of offers to raise money, throw benefit concerts, sell shirts, candles and stickers have all been wonderful. Everyone literally wants to do something to help, and the generosity of many is overwhelming. So the question is, where should you start?

The Chamber of Commerce and the City of Seal Beach are being overwhelmed with ideas for special events ranging from large to small and are so thankful for them. The event planning stage is already in process, and what is needed now is for volunteers to come along side and lend a helping hand. If you are like me, you deal with grieving by working and helping others do the same.

If you'd like to be notified about volunteer opportunities as they become available, you can simply leave a reply to this blog post below and check the box "send me email updates for this blog post." This will create a visible list of volunteers that I can reach out to when volunteers are needed. The ability for us to work together and grieve together will support what we are all trying to accomplish, raising money to support the victims families.
