The 2011-2012 Highlights of Los Al Schools – Continued

We are getting closer to the start of the new school year.  Can you feel the excitement? Just a few more of last school year’s highlights before we watch the great things they will do this coming year.

Lee Elementary – Lee started modernization this past summer but, before that started, Lee did some great things.

• Got a wonderful new principal Mr. Briggerman
• Worked with Teri Malpass of Weaver to implement and advance Math Walls
• Seal Beach Lion’s Teacher of the year – Wendy Wood
• A record setting year for annual fundraiser $70,000
• 100 students participated in the Annual Spelling Bee

Laurel High School – The highest ranked continuation high school in the county

• Poetry nights – Students shared original work to a live audience
• Shakespeare in the Round
• Holocaust Remembrance Contest – Several students participated in the Remembrance Art Contest hosted by Chapman University.
• Showcase of Arts – Sponsored by Rossmoor Women’s Club
• Celebrating Student Success
