Why Are There Flying Dumpsters Around Town?

Last week we received a question regarding a Dumpster seen hanging several stories in the air over the construction site at the Valley View Street overpass.

The reason the Dumpster is suspended from a crane is because they make great storage bins. What better way to protect expensive tools than to suspend them in the air?

After the working day is finished, crews will hoist bins into the air loaded with tools. When construction begins again, the Dumpster is easily lowered to the ground. This way, contractors can protect their tools without having to move them back and forth between home and the worksite.
