Car Crushes Man Changing Tire Orange County

WESTMINSTER, CA — A man changing a tire was crushed to death, the Orange County Coroner reported.

The 25-year-old Westminster resident was fatally injured by a car while he was changing its tire, according to the coroner's report.

Juan Ruiz was changing a tire on his car in a parking lot in Orange when something went horribly wrong. He was crushed by that car about 1:30 p.m., according to the coroner's office.

Ruiz was rushed to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange but died about one half hour later, the coroner said.

The incident was being investigated by Westminster police.
