Car Strikes, Kills Person Running Across Garden Grove Freeway
A Friday morning pedestrian fatality on the Garden Grove Freeway stalled traffic for over three hours as investigators worked the scene.

GARDEN GROVE, CA —Westbound lanes of the Garden Grove Freeway were closed Friday morning, after a person was struck by a vehicle while trying to run across the 22 Freeway lanes.
A westbound vehicle struck and killed that individual. The fatal injury occurred about 5:45 a.m. at Beach Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol spokesperson Jon Latosquin.
The person died at the scene. It was not known as of this report if the person was male or female, or whether the driver who struck the person remained on the scene.

The westbound lanes were closed while an investigation was conducted.
Three of the lanes were reopened about 6:45 a.m., and the remaining lanes were reopened about 8 a.m., the CHP reported.
