Cologne Robbery Capture Leaves Cops Smelling Like A Rose

A man fled the Seal Beach Boulevard Ulta store with swiped perfume and cologne, police say. Two suspects were captured the next day.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Two men robbed a Seal Beach Ulta Cosmetics store this week, and on Tuesday, police arrested suspects in the case.

"Seal Beach Police Officers arrested Isaiah Gurley, 22 of Long Beach, and Nicholas Ray,20 of Long Beach, on the charge of robbery," police said in release.

On Monday afternoon, an adult African-American male entered the ā€œUltaā€ store at 12000 block of Seal Beach Boulevard, officers said.

The man selected several items from the store shelves, mainly perfumes and colognes. He attempted to leave the store without paying for the items and was confronted by the store manager, according to Seal Beach Police Sgt. Mike Henderson.

A brief struggle occurred and the male suspect fled on foot and got into a waiting vehicle.

The store employees related the vehicle description to the West-Cities Communications police dispatch center and Seal Beach Police Officers used that tip to locate and detain the suspect vehicle.

Both suspects were arrested for the charge of robbery and were booked at Seal Beach jail.
