Corvette-Dump Truck Crash Triggers Major 405 Pileup

One person was hospitalized, and an hours-long SigAlert was issued for the 405 Freeway in Seal Beach.

SEAL BEACH, CA — A pileup that started with a corvette and a dump truck Thursday morning, triggered an hours-long SigAlert on the San Diego (405) Freeway at the border of Orange and Los Angeles counties.

The crash involved several cars and sent one person to the hospital. It happened just before 8 a.m. on the southbound 405 just north of Seal Beach Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. As of 10 a.m., the carpool lane and one other lane remained closed while police investigated the wreck and waited for a tow truck.

The condition of the injured person remains unknown.
