Crash Wedges Woman Under Big Rig Hauling Human Waste

A woman suffered severed injuries after being trapped under a big rig on the Artesia (91) Freeway near the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway.

A woman was hospitalized with severe but unknown injuries after a high-speed, rear-end collision with a big rig carrying human waste in Cerritos early today.

The collision occurred on the eastbound lanes of the Artesia (91) Freeway near the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, at 12:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol online incident log.

The force of the collision wedged the vehicle, a Honda Crosstour, beneath the truck, a videographer at the scene said.

The victim was trapped for an hour before firefighters could extricate her, Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervisor Michael Pittman said.

The videographer said the human waste load remained intact.
