Eat With a Purpose

There is a plethora of diet and nutrition advice you can get from Beach Fitness – a variety of quality answers to the dozens of questions regarding diet and nutrition we are asked daily.  Of course, it often works best to have a personalized nutrition program designed to meet your goals. And sure, each trainer or coach has his or her specific focus on how you can achieve these goals. However, you can find that they all in one way or another follow the same premise – to eat with a purpose. Rather than approaching a workout, and thinking “If I push myself harder, I can go reward myself by eating ______,” try thinking of food as fuel, and consider what your body needs for recovery to further build and repair. If you had a great workout, reward your body by giving it what it needs. Avoid thinking about what you can’t eat (Aside from food allergies and intolerances, of course), and focus on what you can eat.

It is common to ask what to eat before a workout. It is much less common to ask what to eat post-workout. Considering the best fuel for your workout? Good. But do not forget to refuel. Exercising is the easy part. Simply getting to the gym is a bit harder. Controlling what we eat is the hardest.
