Elderly Woman Pepper Sprays Robber At Gunpoint In Orange County

WESTMINSTER, CA — A woman in her 80s was threatened by a robber who pointed a gun at her and demanded her purse Christmas morning, the Orange County Register reported.

Instead of giving up her purse, the report said, the woman gave the robber a dose of pepper spray.

Westminster Police officers described the robber, who is still at large, as a Hispanic man in his 30s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a chiseled face and pointy nose. He was wearing a black beanie and jacket with white lettering, black pants and a backpack, the report said.

He was traveling on a teal-colored bike when he approached the woman, who was out on her morning walk, near Bushard Street and England.

The suspect fled the scene on his bike after he was pepper sprayed, the report said.
