Elevated Surf, High Tides In Seal Beach Thanksgiving Week 2019
Minor tidal overflow and coastal flooding are expected through Tuesday, with coastal flooding possible this week. Here's what to expect.

SEAL BEACH, CA ā Windy weather was expected to return to Orange County Monday, along with a major winter storm later in the week. and the National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for elevated surf and high tides along the Orange County coastline.
Starting Monday, elevated surf will combine with high tides of 6.5 to 7 feet through Tuesday, they said.
"Minor tidal overflow and coastal flooding are possible," according to Alexander Tardy of the San Diego National Weather Service. "Surf will increase Wednesday through Friday, though the tides will be lower.

In Orange County, expect waves and surf from 3 to 6 feet, with some surf up to 7 feet, they said.
Ocean swimming conditions will be dangerous, as a high rip current will create an increased risk of drowning, according to NWS.

During a beach hazard, remember to obey posted warning signs and flags. Swimmers and surfers should use caution when in or near the water, and always swim near a lifeguard.
