Fiery Motorcycle Crash Stalls Southbound 405 Freeway Traffic

An explosive early morning collision on a busy onramp caused a temporary road closure in Westminster.

WESTMINSTER, CA —Drivers were alerted of lane closures when a motorcycle and vehicle collided into one another in north Orange County, Friday morning.

The crash occurred on the Southbound 405 Freeway near the Westminster onramp, just before 7:30 a.m., CHP said.

"A motorcycle struck the back of a gray Mercedes," CHP reported, and the motorcycle caught fire. Flames "could be seen from across the freeway," CHP officers said.

As emergency responders arrived at the scene, all lanes were blocked, but in under an hour, the road was clear. No one was injured in the crash, according to CHP.
