Find Activities during the Holidays for all Baby Boomers and seniors

The holidays are a great time to get together with friends, family, and loved ones. With family in town, or individuals visiting places outside their home cities, find activities for everyone can be a challenge.

The Activities section is a place on the BoomersLink website where members can both post and search for activities in their local area. Going into the Activity Calendar, users can search on category topics ranging from religion to hobbies to culture and community. The Calendar provides options and suggestions for things to-do, right at your fingertips, regardless of your location.

“Last month my husband and I travelled to see my daughter in Boston,” stated Barbara L. “The city was new to us, and my daughter works during the day, so we turned to BoomersLink to look for activities within that zip code, and we found some good ones.” Barbara added that “We found a few shows and a museum opening, which was perfect.”

Activities listed on the website can be searched by location to user (via radius) or by zip code. Finding activities can even be generalized to city and state searches. This feature is great if you are traveling and still want to utilize the functionality of the Activity Calendar. BoomersLink Activities travels with you, wherever you go.

The Activity Calendar is an ever changing area, under the My Community section. Both members and administrators alike can add activities to the calendar. These activities can then be searched by other members based on category, title, date, or location. If you wish to add an Activity (either to promote your event, or list an event) a simple form is provided to fill out activity details (name, location, cost, website, date, etc). Once submitted, BoomersLink staff reviews the submitted activity and once approved, the activity is posted for all users to see. The Activity Calendar is a great place to keep track of all events that you are attending, and an easy way to market and invite others to attend those events. In the same way a member can search for activities regardless of location, users can post activities for almost any location – from Denver to Dallas to Denmark. Ease of use and simple, useful functionality describes the Activities feature.
