LOS ALAMITOS, CA — A small vegetation fire broke out Monday afternoon in the area near Leisure World, officials reported.

Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene of a small brush fire at 2 p.m. at the eastbound 22 and Northbound 605 Freeway interchange.

"Firefighters drew hard lines around the burn area and reached 100 percent containment by 2:3o p.m., they reported.

"Crews will remain in the area to check for hot spots and smoldering vegetation in the burn area," they said.

There were no injuries reported, and the cause remained under investigation.

Roughly one-quarter acres burned in the small blaze, they reported.
