Get A $20 Gift Card After Donating Blood In Seal Beach

SEAL BEACH, CA — The American Red Cross made a plea to the public Wednesday, after dangerous winter weather canceled blood drives across the country and intensified an already serious emergency blood shortage.

"The national blood supply remains at critically low levels — blood drives have been canceled in nearly every state where Red Cross collects blood," American Red Cross Spokeswoman Christine Welch said. "As a result, nearly 15,000 blood and platelet donations have gone uncollected this month alone."

In Seal Beach, residents who donate blood from Feb. 1 through Feb. 29 will receive a $20 Amazon gift card by email.
