Get A Lyft To March For Our Lives 2018 In California
A little more than a week ago, thousands of CA students walked out of class to push for gun reform. Many are getting a Lyft to Sat. rallies.
Thousands of people, including students, teachers and parents from across California and the United States will participate in the March For Our Lives 2018 Saturday morning, March 24. With some students as of yet unable to drive, and others worried about parking woes, the national ridesharing company Lyft is offering free rides for a lucky group attending marches at major cities across the country. The idea came from Lyft co-founders John Zimmer and Logan Green, who have supported the student involvement since the beginning.
"We’ve partnered with the March For Our Lives organizers to ensure that our commitment of up to $1.5 million in free rides will have the most impact on their efforts — and yours," they said in the most recent Lyft blog.
A little more than a week ago, thousands of high school and middle school students in California cities walked out of class as part of a nationwide effort to push lawmakers to come up with "common sense gun control" laws and to remember the victims of the tragic February shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 people dead.

Lyft co-founders shared their thoughts on the surviving students who continue to use their social platforms for the greater good.
“Your bravery and intelligence have provided a renewed and much needed hope for our future," they wrote in a letter to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students. "We are incredibly grateful for the example you are setting."
