GOP Presidential Candidate Takes Aim at California's Vaccination Law
Criticizing the state's new mandatory vaccination law, Carly Fiorina is quoted, saying, "California is wrong on most everything, honestly."

At an Iowa Town Hall Thursday, GOP presidential hopeful and failed California senatorial candidate Carly Fiorina came out against the stateās mandatory vaccination law.
Fiorina cited the need to protect religious liberty adding, āWhen in doubt, itās always the parentās choice,ā according to the Washington Post.

However, according to the Washington Post she added, āWhen you have highly communicable diseases where we have a vaccine thatās proven, like measles or mumps, then I think a parent can make that choice -- but then I think a school district is well within their rights to say: āIām sorry, your child cannot then attend public school.ā So a parent has to make that trade-off.ā
Fiorina went on to say school districtsā should not be able to mandate āthese more esoteric immunizations.ā

The presidential candidate told Iowa residents a story about how she resented a school nurse trying to ābullyā her daughter into getting the HPV vaccination for her child.
According to Slate.com, Fiorina has been a vocal opponent of Californiaās vaccination law, which currently faces opposition from signature gatherers seeking a referendum.
āCalifornia is wrong on most everything, honestly,ā Slate quotes Fiorina saying. āIām not at all surprised that they made that mistake as well.ā
