Grocery Store Armed Robbery Suspects Sought Near Los Alamitos

Suspects were sought across northern Orange County after a grocery store was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday, officials said.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Suspects in a grocery store armed robbery Wednesday were sought by area police. They asked the public for help to find a man who robbed a market at gunpoint.

The crime occurred just before 1 p.m. Tuesday at a Vons market in the 16000 block of Beach Boulevard, according to the Westminster Police Department.

The suspect was described as white and about 50-60 years of age, and he wore a black baseball cap and dark clothing, police said.

"The suspect demanded cash while brandishing a weapon described as black handgun," a police statement said. "The suspect was able to flee the scene on a bicycle with an unknown amount of cash."

Officers from the Westminster and Huntington Beach police departments searched the area for the suspect, but he got away.
