High Surf Advisory For Orange County Beaches Through Wednesday, NWS Says

A high surf advisory will remain in effect in Orange County beaches until 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 the National Weather Service said.

Surf is expected from 5 to 8 feet, with sets up to 11 feet, only lowering to 4 to 6 feet by late Wednesday morning, according to the NWS alert.

The highest surf will be south of Carlsbad according to reports.

Strong rip currents will create dangerous swimming conditions, according to the release.

"Large waves can wash people off jetties and rocks," they said.

The High Surf is expected to affect beaches in Orange County, producing those strong rip currents and creating localized beach erosion.
