Holiday Decorating Contest Returns To Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Are you dressing up your home for the holidays? Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone and those streets are starting to glimmer with red, gold, green and blue lights of Christmas. This year, the City of Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department have invited all City of Los Alamitos residents to participate in the 2017 Holiday Decorating Contest.

"Decorate your home in the holiday spirit," Steve Kim, of the City of Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department said. How do you participate?

• No registration is required
• All decorated homes will be judged.
• Homes must have holiday displays and lights turned on for the duration of 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, to be eligible.

"Judges from the community will select 1st and 2nd place winners in each of the Los Alamitos neighborhoods," they said. "Signs will be distributed to each winner for display in front of their home."

Winners are encouraged to keep decorations on display throughout the holiday season. A list of the winning homes will be posted on the City website for community members to visit during the holiday season.
