Bass guitarist and Los Alamitos native, and member of the Silversun Pickups, was to be honored as the next Hometown Celebrity on Dec. 10.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Local guitarist Nikki Monninger earns the title of Hometown Celebrity at the Dec. 10 City Council Meeting, the city council spokesperson reported. Monninger, bassist of the Silversun Pickups, grew up and attended school in Los Alamitos.
Her alternative rock band has enjoyed 13 singles on the Billboard Top 100, including “Panic Switch” peaking at the number 1 spot.
The band previously received a Grammy nomination and has appeared on several national television shows including the David Letterman Show, and she still finds time to return to her home base in Los Alamitos to visit with her mom.
